Youth Temple Trip-August 18th

We will be going to the temple on Saturday, August 18th. We have to be at the temple READY and in the chapel at 6:00 AM. That means we are meeting at the church at 4:45 AM. So set your alarm clocks, and come ready to go to the temple!

For The Strength of Youth

We just want to remind our girls of the importance of the "For the Strength of Youth" pamphlet. Please try to make a goal to read out of it frequently. It is filled with standards that each Young Woman should strive for. Parents are encouraged to read it with their Young Woman as well. Setting an example for our girls is one of the most important things! If you make an effort to read the pamphlet often, your lives will be truly blessed!

Combined Mutual

We will be combined this Wednesday with the Young Men. Meet at the church at 7:00!

Girl's Camp June 26-29

Girl's Camp is coming up! Below you will find information about Girl's Camp as well as a packing list. If you have questions, contact the numbers in the next post of the leaders in charge of camp. Can't wait to see you all there!

Girl's Camp Information

Picket Lane Girl’s Camp 2012 June 26 – 29 Dear Parents: Our Stake theme this year for camp is “Arise & Shine to C.E.R.E.A.L. (Christ’s Eternal Role Enriches All Life)”. They have asked each ward to represent a cereal and a value from the YW’s theme. Our ward will represent Marshmallow Mateys and the value of Integrity. We are really excited about the fun and growth we will have being the Mighty Mateys: Pirates with Integrity. We have been teaching the girls to be a different kind of pirate – one who shares her “treasure”, or light of Christ, with everyone. Girl’s camp will be held at the Aspencrest again (near Kamas and Woodland, about 1 ½ hours from Stansbury). We will be meeting at the church at 6:30 AM on Tuesday, June 26. Please be on time because we will be leaving promptly for camp at 7:00 AM. We will return home from camp the following Friday morning/afternoon. Attached to this letter, we are providing you with a camping list with items that are needed and/or suggested for each girl to bring. Please contact any Camp or YW leaders if you have questions or problems regarding any items on the list. **Remember that an air mattress may be brought, but there is no guarantee that there will be space to use it. Shorts, sleeveless shirts, bare midriffs, and immodest pajamas are not allowed. Capris are okay as long as they are below the knee when sitting. Please make sure the girls pack clothes that are appropriate for hiking and camping so they can be comfortable and safe. Make sure you daughter has at least one pair of shoes suitable for hiking. We have assigned each girl a “Secret Sister”. Each girl will give her secret sister three inexpensive gifts. Please keep the total amount spent under five dollars. Secret Sister assignments should be attached to your packet. Please remember that cell phones, mp3 players and other electronics are not allowed for use at camp (there is no cell service in our campground anyway). If any electronics are brought, camp leaders will hold onto them until the end of camp. Also, pranks at camp aren’t allowed as they can easily hurt the feelings of others or cause injury to fellow campers. We are so excited to be a part of Girls Camp this year!
